Into the Water

Into the Water

About this Artwork

Into the Water opens at Keauhou Bay, birthplace of King Kamehameha III, where a stone path leads straight into the ocean and three ancestral figures watch from beneath the surface. In AR, subtle motion and original music by Hawaiian artist Maka Gallinger awaken the bay as a living relative, not a backdrop. The work quietly points to SDG 14 (Life Below Water) and SDG 15 (Life on Land), honoring Keauhou as a place where culture, community, shoreline, and sea are inseparable—and where our choices decide whether these waters remain sacred and alive.
