About this Artwork
How does my work demonstrate ARtivism?
My Grandparents island is a little piece of guacamole in the carribean by the name of Puertorico previously known as Boriken. Is a beautiful island. Rich with culture food and music. We have a indigenous frog species that we all call “EL Coqui” .
So my work represents awareness of the current situation of what’s happening to EL Coqui today in puertorico .(BORIKEN).
There is a combination of different factors today that is threatening the existence of our fellow tree frog as I speak.
From habitats being changed, altered, ruined and lost. To recent climate changes and the tourists that come to visit and have audacity to silence their nightly harmonic decibel calls.
My work has a infusion of the fellow indigenous frog -Fighting for his Survival-
Fight or Flight type of Mentality.
Besides puertorico having champions in every division in boxing history.
EL Coqui has been training and working hard to keep himself relevant. He pushed himself up to Harlem to grow layers to work up a sweat to keep himself pushing from non existence. Coqui grew sick and tired. Now he is walking with a spirit to survive these times by any means necessary.
This Image I sketched on Adobe Fresco on my iPad and imported it as a SVG on Adobe Express. On Adobe Express I embellished the character with Adobe Firefly to have his Harlem Boxer Look. I later imported it into meshy A.I, image to 3D and had a rendering created of the character walking. Once I had the rendered character completed. I added the 3D sculpture as a GLB into the illust studio and added metallic and reflective textures to give it a wet value look. I had this original beat created and added a bop to his two step. To show the true essence of how the character feels on the present state of his habitat.
