What Still Grows

What Still Grows

About this Artwork

“I placed a tree above the city
because they keep removing them from the ground.

I have watched trees disappear in my own streets.
I have watched systems stand unmoved.

So I imagined one that could not be cut down.

It turns slowly, breathing above concrete and glass.
Its roots do not destroy, they reach.

They move horizontally through towers and institutions,
through structures built to feel permanent,
entering spaces that believed themselves untouchable.

Where root meets stone, light appears.
Where light gathers, flowers return.

This work began as a response to rigid systems.
It became something larger,
a reminder that we breathe
because something green breathes first.

The tree does not protest.
It simply grows.

And sometimes,
growth is the most unstoppable form of resistance.
